Carl Lucas/Luke Cage

Carl Lucas is a former member of the gang the Bloods but after seeing that he was hurting those around him and that there are better ways to live, je left. Lucas did keep ties with a member of the Bloods named Willis Stryker, who ended up stabbing him in the back. After Stryker’s girlfriend broke up with him, he blamed Lucas. Stryker broke into Lucas’ home and planted stolen heroine and then tipped off the police. Lucas was then arrested, lost contact with his family, and became very bitter getting into many fights with the other prisoners and attempting many escapes. This behavior ended up getting him transferred to another prison off the coast of Georgia. This is where Lucas met Dr. Noah Burstein.

Burstein is an experimental scientist who was looking for someone to try out experimental cell regeneration. Lucas volunteered to be his guinea pig. All was going well until Burstein left for a minute and Rackham (a prison guard who hated Lucas) tried to kill Lucas by taking the experiment father than intended. Though, this did not kill Lucas but gave him super human strength and durability. Using his new powers, Lucas escaped from prison and changed his name to Luke Cage. Cage became a “hero for hire”, moved to New York, opened a medical clinic and battled criminals. Even though Cage’s original plans for adulthood didn’t involve being betrayed by a best friend it led to his powers and ability to save others life.
